EP 26 || Understanding Why Slowing Down Can Feel So Difficult
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Why can slowing down feel so uncomfortable?
In this episode, we explore our somewhat complicated relationship with rest and why stopping doesn't always mean the body immediately feels relaxed.
We look at what happens when we move through our days in a constant state of doing; why quiet can sometimes make our thoughts feel louder, and why reaching for our phones or finding another task can feel easier than simply being still.
We also reframe what rest actually means. Rest is not something you have to be perfect at, and feeling restless doesn't mean you're doing it wrong.
Finishing with the concluding point that - rest simply creates enough space to notice what was already there. Ending with a simple five-minute experiment to help you explore what happens when you give yourself permission to stop.
An invitation to understand your relationship with rest, become more curious about what your body needs, and experience slowing down in a different way.
